ACCESSING YOUR MEDICAL RECORDS

Since December 21, 2001, patients have the right to access their health information held by Kookora Surgery. Protocols for requesting and receiving this information have been established; for details, please inquire at reception. Additionally, we recommend reading our new “Keeping your information private in our practice” brochure for further insights.

FEES

Kookora Surgery operates as a private billing practice, and information on standard fees and services is available at Reception. While pensioners and bulk-billed patients enjoy specific arrangements, all other patients are privately billed.

Each Doctor at Kookora Surgery has an individual fee structure aligned with our standard fees. Payment is expected at the time of consultation, and various methods, including cash, cheque, credit card, or EFTPOS, are accepted. Please be aware that fees may be applied for cancelled or missed appointments at the discretion of each Doctor. If you encounter any issues concerning fees, we encourage open discussion with your Doctor or the Practice Manager.

HEALTH PROMOTION
Support patients’ right to make informed decisions about their healthcare – we therefore provide information to you regarding the benefits & risks of proposed investigations.
We provide information about health promotion & illness prevention. From time to time will offer wellness programs.
We coordinate with other medical services for the benefit of our patients (allied health, diagnostic, pharmacists etc)

PATIENT FEEDBACK OR CONCERNS

Occasionally, we invite patients to share their views on the practice through questionnaires to identify areas for improvement. Your feedback is essential in enhancing our services.

Please feel comfortable discussing any issues you may have with your doctor or the receptionist. We believe that addressing concerns within the practice is the most effective approach. If, however, you prefer to escalate a problem externally, you can contact the NSW Government Centre for handling complaints. Your well-being and satisfaction are our priorities, and we value your input in shaping our ongoing commitment to quality care.
