Yes, Kookora Surgery received full AGPAL Accreditation in 1999. The Surgery received Re-Accreditation in 2002,2005,2008 & with GPA in 2011, 2014, 2017, 2020/2021 and will undergo GPA Accreditation again in 2024. We are committed to quality improvement at all times.
We are a private billing practice. Information about our fees and services are available at reception and here (link to fees).
We offer a discount to Pensioners and Health Care Card holders who bring a current entitlement card. Please present your Medicare Card/ Health Care Card at the front desk on arrival at each visit.
Our telephone system has 6 incoming lines. We advise those with acute medical problems to ring early to secure an appointment. We also ask that all other calls be left for the later part of the morning or afternoon. When you want to speak to one of the doctors regarding results, you need to book a phone appointment. You can usually obtain one at 8 am each morning.

APPOINTMENTS
Telephone Operation Hours:
- Operates from 8.00 am to 5.30 pm Monday to Friday and 8.00 am to 12.00 midday on Saturday.
- Outside these hours, a recorded message provides after-hours information.
Appointment Types:
- Long appointments: Request for consultations lasting over 15 minutes, full medicals, insurance medicals, first antenatal and postnatal visits.
- Additional appointments: For multiple individuals being seen.
Walk-in Patients:
- Triage for urgent cases; appointments organised if non-urgent. Alternatives are offered if no appointments are available.

Home visits, arranged as needed and scheduled through consultation with your doctor, are limited to a 5 km radius of the surgery or at the doctor's discretion.

Kookora Surgery maintains a non-smoking policy for both staff and patients, kindly requesting that patients refrain from smoking within the grounds of the surgery.
